( elena's gaze lifts up to his in the close space between, worry filling her gaze once more. )

Is she why ... ( she pauses, remembering all the blood in that damn hallway. ) Is that why Klaus could hurt you?

Yes, though I don't understand why. It's all very perplexing.

[He smiles quietly.]

She doesn't know anything about any of it, despite what I've told her, so asking her isn't exactly going to help. She doesn't believe I'm the Devil at all, though we'll see how much longer that lasts. [He seems almost sad about that.] Freya said she would help me get to the bottom of it, however.

( elena nods her head a bit at that. )

I plan to help getting her to the bottom of things, too. ( in a more general sense. she knows freya is taking on a lot on her plate, and she knows the reasons why. )

Hopefully, we have better luck here than I did back home. Despite the lack of brutish gang members and drug pushers, this place is somehow more violent with the rather large supernatural element.

[He swallows uncomfortably. They both had their brush with death recently though he hardly wants to admit he's a bit shaken about the whole thing. Especially not to Elena for...reasons.]
